The Exciting Part!

Apologies for the lack of updates recently, but it's been a frantic month of proof-reading, editing, dotting Ts and crossing eyes! 

The Good News

Richard got all of the art done, and we can say it looks fantastic! We're so happy with the work he's done, and the mini-expansions add so much character into the game, it'll be tempting to play with them all at once! That's for experienced adventurers though, which is why each game will include an expansions dice! Roll it once or twice to choose which expansions you'll play with this time round! Serious thanks go to all of you for unlocking these fantastic stretch goals!

The Even Better News

Robin has done a fantastic job with the graphic design, and we hope you'll agree that they're clear, with easy to understand symbology! We've worked really hard to make sure that every little detail is thought of, and that the symbols are intuitive. We've had to use some text on the expansion cards to make sure they're clear, but have again paid attention to making it clear and concise. 

The Best News

All the print files are at the manufacturers, so the process has begun! We'll obviously have more to tell you as we go through the days and weeks, but we can say we're very excited to finally have it underway! This is well on schedule for us, and we're optimistic that everything will go without a hitch!

So to sum up, there's been no bad or ugly news so far, which is the way we'd like to keep it! We'll keep you updated on all the developments as we have them.

Hi everyone, 

We have something exciting to show you guys, and we want your honest opinions! The final rulebook for Exploriana is here, and we need you guys to tear it apart! We've already been through with a fine tooth comb, but we know the game inside out, and that sometimes leads to us assuming something just makes sense. There is no one more qualified to proof this rulebook than the people who'll be playing the game, and if you have a spare bit of time in your week we'd really appreciate your feedback!

In other news a whopping 81% of you have completed your backer surveys! Thank you for getting this done so quickly, it means we can get you your games and add-ons nice and promptly. Those of you who haven't, you've got until the end of February to get your surveys in, it is an email that goes to a lot of people at once, so it may have found its way to your junk box, or have been listed as a promotional email. You'll be getting individual reminders fairly regularly, so do look out for them, and if you haven't seen one by the end of the month, please do get in touch so we can fix this for you. 

We're desperate for everyone to get their games, but this is really tough for us without your addresses. With this in mind, we'll be locking addresses when we hit March, so for those of you moving, do try and update your address if necessary.

It’s going to be pledgendary!!

What is? Well, we’ve got exciting things to tell you about the pledge manager, but patience, we’ll get to that! There’s exciting things about the game to tell you first!

We’ve only got a few pieces of art left before the game is complete, and a massive thank you to our Intrepid Explorers for letting us show you their portraits! As I think you’ll agree, they’re a great addition to the explorer deck, and all look suitably intrepid! If you’ve kept an eye on our social media, then you might have seen our other addition, Osa Johnson, who is our final famous explorer! A renowned naturalist, and pioneering film-maker, she inspired many young minds, and is a fitting addition to our deck of lionhearted individuals! Click on the link to learn more! 

Now, onto the bit you’ve all been waiting for! You’ll receive an email with an invitation to the pledge manager within the next five days, all you’ll need to do is click the link and it’ll take you straight there. Keep checking your inbox, and do let us know if you haven’t received it by then. If you’ve already pledged for add-ons, then your balance should reflect this, and you’ll be able to add those items to your basket. If not, then don’t worry, you’ll still be able to add items to your pledge! 

The available add-ons are:

• Extra copies of the standard or deluxe version
• The Risks & Rewards expansion pack
• The Auction Deck
• Extra Trailblazer packs

Once you’ve decided what you want, put in your address, confirm the order, and then sit back in the knowledge that all is once again right with the world! Prices for shipping can be found below. We’ll be closing the pledge manager at the end of February, so do try and complete your survey as soon as possible. For anyone changing their address between then and May/June time, you’ll still be able to change your details on the pledge manager, and we’ll give you a warning about a week before addresses are due to be locked. Once the pledge manager is closed, we’ll keep you updated with details of shipping via these updates.

The Nitty Gritty

We're in the depths of getting everything ready for manufacturing, so it's a busy old time at Exploriana HQ! We're cutting through swathes of graphic design with his digital machete, finalising our field notes in the form of a fantastic rulebook, plotting shipping routes for precious cargo, and generally getting very excited!

For those of you at the intrepid explorer level, thank you for getting your photos to us so quickly, Richard is quickly working through your portraits, and hopefully you'll be very happy with them! We're diligently turning all of the new art into playable cards, and they're looking great! We unfortunately can't share anything new at the minute, but as soon as all our intrepid explorers have received their portraits, we should be able to show you guys some of them too!

We had one Intrepid Explorer pledge which didn't get taken up, and so I've been going through lists of excellent candidates from history! I'm pleased to announce Osa Johnson as our final card in the Explorer deck. She will be filling the role of Scout, and spent many years travelling the globe, documenting the more exciting and exotic places of the world. Known for their travels across the regions of Exploriana, they were pioneers of the nature documentary, bringing film and photographs back from their travels for the public to see. Continuing to travel and adventure after her husband's death, Osa was a real inspiration, and we're proud to have her feature in our game! 

The game is still available via print and play, or Tabletopia, and if you have given the game a go, either at a convention, or in your own home, then please give us a rating on BoardgameGeek, it'll really help get the word out about this awesome game!

2019, meet 1901!

The focus recently has been on the future and the new year, so it's nice in this update to get back to the past for a little bit! So welcome back to the Victorian Era, we hope you'll enjoy your stay! 

In terms of the game, everything is running along smoothly, and is still on schedule to get the game in your hands nice and quickly. The art is coming along nicely, and the first Intrepid Explorer portrait is almost complete, with a few of the promo cards still to be done. We'll be receiving production samples from Longpack soon, and then we'll be able to start manufacturing. 

You can expect updates every fortnight from now on, and we'll be posting new art, and production updates with every one. Today's is an awesome image from our Get Lost! mini-expansion!
