Stretches, Add-ons, and Nellie Bly!

Hi guys, Dicky here!

We're at 20 days to go, and really happy with how things have been going! We've got two new stretch goals, and these two will go to all backers! We're also going to talk about how to add-on items to your pledge, and we've got a very special video from our artist, Richard Dearing. 

Stretch Goals

The next stretch goal is to unlock wooden guide tokens and mission bonuses! The wooden guide tokens will be even better to block hazards with, and come with the added bonus of added bonuses! The bonus mission rewards give you extra points for completing your mission cards before other players! This makes forming a strategy based on mission cards even riskier!

Add-ons

We've had a couple of questions about how best to add on items to your pledge - it's really easy, but I thought I'd re-iterate here just in case. All you have to do is click 'manage your pledge' at the top of the KS page and then 'change your pledge'. Once you're there, all you need to do is add on the total cost of your add-on items to your pledge. Everything else will be handled in our pledge manager after the campaign has been completed. 

We promised you a treat from Richard, and here it is! He's put together a few of these process videos, and we'll be sure to share more next week!

Intrepid Explorers!

Welcome to week 2! We're working hard and so close to the £9,000 stretch goal! That will unlock the Front Page News mini-expansion, which Richard is already working on the art for. We should have some preliminary sketches from him later in the week! 

Speaking of Richard, he's very excited about our Intrepid Explorer pledge level! We already have one pledge at that level, and we've been talking about how it will work! Essentially, we'll get in touch and ask for a photo of yourself, either posing for action, or as a portrait. We'll also work out which explorer title best fits your personality, with those who pledged first getting first pick. You could be a photographer or a medic, a geologist or a biologist, the list goes on. From there, you'll have email contact with Richard, who'll work to portray you in all your glory! 

We've asked Richard to put together three portraits of existing explorers so that you can see what kind of artwork you can expect, so shown below are Nellie Bly, Dr. David Livingstone, and Mary Kingsley. We'll be giving away HQ copies of these as one of our upcoming social media stretch goals!

Lost and Found?

We're heading into the weekend with a spring in our step, having unlocked the third stretch goal this morning! 

Third Stretch Goal Unlocked!

Get Lost! adds more lost explorers with each card from the expansion, giving you an even harder decision to make once it comes to taking your picks. Richard is already working on the art, and each card will have it's own distinct image! The same goes for the already unlocked Poison Chalice expansion. 

Risks and Rewards!

We've also been able to add one more stretch goal to the campaign for the Deluxe Edition. Up next at 75 backers will be the Risks and Rewards pack, which gives players the chance to save themselves with two fantastic custom printed dice, and some excellent end-game scoring conditions. 

The two dice will be a guide that's learning the ropes, and a rescue party for when your explorer gets lost. Neither comes with a guarantee that they'll do exactly what you want them to, but that's pushing your luck isn't it? 

Also included in this pack will be 6 reward cards that will reward the absolutists amongst you! Who has the most money? Who's got the most cards from South America? How many lost explorers have you rescued? They might make all the difference in a close game!

We're already not far off this stretch goal, less than 5 pledges away! So if you know someone who's on the fence, let them know! With three stretch goals unlocked already, and a fourth on the way, the deluxe edition is becoming quite the game!

Two Stretch Goals Already!

It's dreary and miserable in the UK today, but not at Exploriana  HQ! We've got lots of stretch goals planned, and the first two are already here! I'm going to go through these in the order that they were unlocked!

First of all, it's worth clarifying that deluxe editions will get all of the standard stretch goals as well as the deluxe goals, which is going to lead to quite a packed game! 

First up are the female sculpts for our deluxe explorers! Coming in at 40mm, they're not going to be small in stature and will be designed by our graphics mastermind Robin Elliott, and produced in resin by Wood Forge Games in Milton Keynes. You can check out some of Wood Forge's awesome work over at their website! 

Secondly, the Poison Chalice mini expansion! This is a relic you definitely don't want at the end of the game! It moves from player to player, either when a poison chalice card is drawn, or when a player holding the poison chalice gets lost. The active player gets to choose who receives the chalice, and at -4 points, it pays to pick your victim wisely!

We'll be teasing images for both of these stretch goals soon, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media!

A HUGE First 24 hrs!

A massive thank you goes out to all of our backers!

It really is a fantastic feeling to have this game funded and knowing we're going to be able to get it into your hands! 

We've had such good conversations with some of you at conventions and online, and some of you have become die hard Exploriana fans, which means everything!  

You've kept us going, especially after the disappointment of the last campaign, and it's got us to where we are today: funded and looking forward to stretch goals! By the time you read this we might have even unlocked the first stretch goal for the deluxe edition! We're super excited for what's next, so keep sharing the campaign and getting the word out about Exploriana.  

Over the next week we'll be launching competitions and social media stretch goals, so keep checking back in, and check out Exploriana on BoardGameGeek!
